BREAKING: Sundowns legend Kekana retires

Try not to drop a tear. Mamelodi Sundowns great Hlompho Kekana has said goodbye to playing the beautiful game aged 37.

Not just a Sundowns legend, the former midfielder goes down as a PSL, Bafana Bafana, and professional sportsmen legend.

The Zebediele-born star who was known for his long-range bullet shots into the net began his career at Black Leopards before moving on to the likes of SuperSport United, Bloemfontein Celtic, and of course Sundowns.

The announcement was made by the former star via social media on Tuesday.

WHAT THE NUMBERS SAY: BEYOND LEGENDARY?

The former Sundowns captain walks away from the game after over 400 PSL games that include a staggering eight league titles, two Telkom Knockouts, the CAF Super Cup, and of course the CAF Champions League title in 2016.

For those who have met or worked closely with Hlompho, he was easily identified as a fine gentleman of charm and respect.

Mzansi football shall always remember his massive smile, mature play, and of course the rocket shots.
